2006 Festival Results
48 Chainsaw Carvers and 11 Chisel Carvers were at the festival this year.
They produced 159 Carvings for the Auction.
170 registered for the Auction.
The Auction total was $31,125.00, about $10,000.00 less than last year. $15,562.50 was donated to the Somerset County Blind Center. The other half went to the Carvers. We also had about 110 less carvings than last year. The average price per carving was about $195, almost $50 higher than last year.
Dennis Beach won First Place in the ECHO Carving Series Competition. He won a place in the ECHO Championship, $1500, an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw, a complete set of ECHO safety equipment and a First Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Michael Blaine was second. He won a place in the ECHO Championship, $1000, an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw, a complete set of ECHO safety equipment and a Second Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Tim Klock was third. He won $500, an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw and a Third Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Jeff Pinney won First Place with top Auction Money of $2215. Jeff won an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw and a First Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Dennis Beach was second with $1750. Dennis won an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw and a Second Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Kevin Black was third with $1700.00. Jeff won an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw and a Third Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Dennis Beach won for the top Auction single piece price of $1200. Dennis won an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw (his third) and a First Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Matt Smith won First Place for his Sponsor Carving judged by five people from the Somerset County Blind Center. Matt won an ECHO CS370 Chainsaw and a First Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Don Winner was second and received the Second Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Joe Armstrong was third and received a Third Place Barker the Bear Trophy.
Every carver that attended the Banquet on Friday night received a door prize. There were 3 ECHO chainsaws available and a complete set of ECHO safety equipment.
The Bear Lamp carving was won by Dr. Fred Smith of Somerset, PA.
